Mermaid

Every little girls underwater fantasy is to be a Mermaid - Mystical aquatic beauties with lovely and  colorful fishtails gracefully swimming in her sea kingdom.

I am once a little girl... I once dreamed to be a Little Mermaid... and I have always believed that dreams do come true.

To make that dream a reality, (even though im not so little anymore) I went to visit the Philippine Mermaid Swimming Academy that offers open water courses in Boracay Island.

You can choose tails for male and for female in different colors. They also have shell and flower bikinis you can use to pair with your tail.

A short briefing will be done on how to put on the tail. It is actually made up of a mono fin and a colorful skin tight cloth. You will be taught the do's and don'ts in using your fishtail.

Renting a fishtail will cost you 1000php. That includes having your picture taken at the white sand beaches of Boracay. You can also add your own accessories to beautify yourself in the photo shoot. You can have as much picture as you want with your own camera but you are not allowed to swim with your fishtail.

Swimming with your fishtail will have an additional charge of 1000php. You will be required to take basic swimming lessons with a Professional Mermaid instructor. You will be taught several strokes on how to gracefully swim with a mono fin. At the end of the 90 minute course, you will be given a Mermaid Certificate with either level 1 or 2 depending on your Mermaid skills.
